You can say Latikah has hair in her DNA. She grew up in an environment that cultivated her creativity... she's a 2nd generation hair stylist. Her mother had many creative talents, and hair was just one that she inherited from her, she learned at a young age that if you want to make a woman feel good, hair can instantly change that. At a young age she and her sister would assist their mother with her clients. Their mother taught them young, she wanted to give them a skill that that they could always fall back on. At age 15 Latikah did just that. She started braiding her friends hair for extra money. Never did she think that hair would be her path, nor that this was her purpose.... it all started with one client...she was having the worst day and called to cancel, but Latikah insisted she still come in. When she was done she turned her to the mirror, and she started crying. It was in that moment she fell in LOVE with everything hair!! Shortly after that she enrolled in cosmetology school. Originally seeking to attend Federico beauty college, where her mother had went, but ended up attending Milan Institute, she graduated in 2008. Since leaving beauty college she has become a successful hairstylist and has made a name for herself, with loyal clientele that support her.
